We are delighted to present for sale an exquisite 18ct gold diamond flowerhead cluster ring. This stunning piece features a beautiful arrangement of old transitional and single-cut diamonds, with a total diamond content of approximately 0.8ct.
Transitional cut diamonds were first used in jewelry during the late 1920s to early 1930s, representing a transitional phase between the Old European cut and the modern round brilliant cut. These diamonds are known for their smaller table, larger culet, and steeper crown, reflecting advances in diamond cutting techniques and tools. Jewelry from the Art Deco and early Retro eras often included transitional cut diamonds.
Single-cut diamonds, also known as eight cuts, are one of the oldest diamond cuts and were commonly used from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. They feature fewer facets than modern cuts, typically around 18, and were favored for their simplicity and elegance in smaller stones.
Given the presence of both transitional and single-cut diamonds, it is likely that this ring dates from the late 1920s to the early 1930s, during the Art Deco period when such cuts were prevalent.
The unmarked mount has been tested and confirmed as 18ct gold. The setting height of the ring is 10.6mm, and it is a size O. Weighing in at just 2.6g, this ring is a delicate yet dazzling addition to any collection.
This ring is a true gem, perfect for anyone who appreciates the beauty of fine jewelry.
