Two Fine late Victorian 9ct gold brooches.
The craftsmanship of these items are breathtaking.
Although pictured together they are priced separately.
Firstly the 9 carat gold agate, citrine and amethyst Scottish pennanular tara brooch (circular broach) is from circa 1880. The circle inset with coloured Scottish agates is set with beautiful foiled amethyst terminals and citrine thistle top, with a steel pin, bottom to the top citrine measures 6.8cm long, 15.63g gross;
and
Skean Dhu brooch (straight broach in the form of a dagger) is a late Victorian 9ct rose gold, agate and citrine Scottish , circa 1880, set with coloured Scottish agates, citrine accents and a citrine thistle top, bottom to the top citrine measures 5.7cm long, 4.32g gross.
Condition Report:
Tara brooch: overall light wear and in good condition. All stones appear original with no chips or cracks. No signs of damage or repair to the gold mounts.
Skean Dhu: overall light wear and in good condition. All stones appear original with no chips or cracks. No signs of damage or repair to the gold mounts.
Please note that the brooches are unhallmarked but tested as 9ct gold.
